Winning Next Level Chef: A Life-Changing Moment

Next Level Blessings: Reflecting on My Journey Since Winning Season 1

Chef Pyet Wins Season 1 of Gordon Ramsay's Next Level Chef

Winning Next Level Chef still feels like a dream. Competing alongside 14 of the most talented chefs in the country, under the guidance of culinary icons like Gordon Ramsay, was an experience that pushed me to the edge and shaped me in ways I never expected. And to walk away as the Season 1 winner? That moment changed my life.

Before that win, I was hustling hard—sometimes unsure where I’d sleep or how I’d make it to the next gig. I remember collecting change just to put gas in my car, hoping that the next opportunity would be the one to open a new door. That grind made me who I am. It’s what kept me focused, humble, and hungry—not just for success, but for meaning.

Since that season aired, so much has changed. I’ve grown, not just professionally, but spiritually and emotionally. I now wake up every day doing what truly fills my heart—cooking food that honors my heritage and uplifts my community. I give thanks to Creator every day for what I’ve been able to achieve and what’s still to come.

But I also remind myself to breathe. To slow down. I still have that “go full speed” mindset, always racing toward the next dream. But now, I'm learning to give myself grace—to honor how far I’ve come, and how much love and hard work it took to get here.

This isn’t just my win. It’s for every person who knows what it’s like to struggle. For every Indigenous kid who never saw themselves represented in this industry. For everyone who dared to chase a dream even when the road felt impossible.

I’m ready to share more, to cook more, and to represent even louder. This journey is just getting started.

With love and gratitude,

Chef Pyet
